ZTE Launches Cheapest 4G Phone in India

Introduction

The reputed mobile manufacturer ZTE has launched the world’s cheapest 4G Smartphone. It has christened the new Smartphone as Blade Qlux 4G. This new 4G phone is going to hit the shelves across India with a price tag of Rs. 4999.  Initially, it would exclusively made available through the retail major Amazon from June 16, 2015. As part of the inaugural offer, the company also offers a double data package from AirTel. For this purpose, ZTE has entered into some business understanding with AirTel. The details of this deal are not yet available in the public domain. The analysts in the telecom vertical believe that this is the best pick amongst the entry-level mobile phones that offer 4G connection, leaving far behind the offer of Xiaomi Redmi 2. The Xiaomi product is positioned at Rs. 6999.

Faster Connectivity and Wider Connectivity Options

The new mobile from ZTE provides connectivity both at 1800MHz and 2300MHz 4G wireless bands in India. Using these 4G bands, the device is able to deliver the data speeds up to 150Mbps on LTE Category 4 networks. Apart from 4G, the budget phone can be connected to the internet network using GPRS/EDGE, 3G, Micro-USB, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n options. Hence at this price, this product certainly seems to be ahead of Redmi 2 from Xiaomi in terms of functionality.

Main Smartphone Configuration

ZTE Blade Qlux 4G is a dual-SIM Smartphone that runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The company assures its customers that the pre-installed operating system can be upgraded to the latest version of Android in the near future. However, ZTE has not given any time frame for this. The mobile sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display with an on-screen resolution of 480x854 pixels.  This budget mobile device is powered by quad-core MediaTek processor that clocks a computational speed of 1.3GHz.  The device houses a 1GB RAM and an 8GB internal storage memory. Using a micro-SD card, this inbuilt memory can be expanded up to 32GB. Apart from these, the Blade Qlux 4G has on board an 8-megapixel auto focusing rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The back-facing camera has LED flash facility to snap the objects in low or dim light conditions.

Other Features

The power backup of the device is given by a 2200mAh battery. The company claims that this power backup is capable of giving up to 12 hours of talk time and 250 hours of standby time. The other features available with the budget phone are light, proximity and accelerometer sensors.
